In my line of work, I am asked to play in many different styles of music, in a variety of settings. The "Whisper-Penny" gives me another mood, and dimension in to my music. Before "Whisper-Penny", when I wanted to play with that sexy "raspy" tone, I had to open my embouchure's aperture in a uncomfortable way to let the air out in a spread way. This way of playing limits my flexibility and endurance, but with "Whisper-Penny", I can achieve that tone without changing the way I play. I highly recommend the "Whisper-Penny" It will give you another color in to your music!!! have fun!!!!
The WP is a very intriguing and interesting tool. Its specific goal is to obtain a soft jazzy sound, full of air and whisper. How many times we have listened to jazz music recorded by the greatest jazz trumpet artists like Chet Baker, and we have loved that kind of sound on the low and middle range, wondering how we could obtain it with our usual mouthpiece and trumpet. Well, the WP is the solution: it creates that fascinating sound easily in one second, with a great result. My personal advice is to use it on mouthpieces with normal cup or not so shallow cup, so to reach to its best efficiency

Dear All, I am happy to announce that I finally will be able to efficiently resign from all my "fluffy trumpet sound duties" I've had the privilege to deliver for everyone around the globe so successfully. I will also happily return to my proper clean trumpet sound, which in fact I always preferred anyway :))) Seriously- with this new toll i highly recommend (see video below) I will be unemployed overnight. The Whisper Penny is a great device that, like guitar pedals, mutes and effects... adds a new timbre to my playing. My decades of playing trumpet have always been focused on efficiently changing the timbre and sonority of my tone, searching for a new sound. When I saw the YouTube videos demonstrating the power of this simple device within the cup of my trumpet or flugelhorn mouthpiece, I was blown away. Every time I pick up this device, and place it into the cup of my favorite piece, I get to envision myself as my favorite trumpet player from the past. I am also allowed to imagine the rasp of my favorite vocalist implanted in my own sound. The best part of all of this, is that I don't have to do anything different to my physical setup. Whisper Penny allows me to record, play small intimate rooms and simply whisper all of my musical ideas to my listeners.

Großes Kompliment an Michael T. Otto und Christoph Endres für die Entwicklung des Whisper-Pennys. Es macht mir Spaß mit dem Teil zu spielen, und sogar in den oberen Lagen ist es einfach, den luftigen Sound zu bekommen, der ein bisschen an Rick Kiefer erinnert. Allerdings ist der Sound mit dem Whisper Penny kontrollierter und gleichmäßiger, als wenn ich die Luft im Klang selbst mit meinem Ansatz natürlich erzeuge. Mit dem WP ist es überhaupt nicht anstrengend, Luft im Sound zu haben. Auch die Stimmung bleibt auf allen Instrumenten gut erhalten. Ich empfehle den Whisper-Penny für "faule Schweine", die den Sound nur einmal im Konzert, z.B. bei einer Ballade mit dem Flügelhorn vor der Big Band brauchen, und dann wieder sofort den klaren Sound haben wollen. Für Duo- oder Solosituationen, wo der Trompeten-Sound richtig nackt ist, empfinde ich den Sound des WP einen Hauch zu mechanisch, das bleibt der einzige Kritikpunkt. Also: bestellt ihn und probiert ihn selbst, es lohnt sich!

"Whisper-penny"? Was soll das denn sein? - Das war meine erste Reaktion. Nach dem Test und Gebrauch wurde es mir klar: der WP erweitert auf einfache aber grandiose Art mein Klangrepertoire, die Spielfreude mit diesem kleinen "Helfer" ist famos, erleichtert den "Farbwechsel" ungemein und es macht riesig Spaß! Dass auf diese geniale Idee bisher noch niemand gekommen ist...
den Whisper Penny!
Für mich hat er folgende Vorteile:
1. Der WP ist ohne grosse zusätzliche Anstrengung sehr leicht zu spielen.
2. Der "ricy" sound ist sensationell!
3. Gerade in kleineren Besetzungen (Stubenjazz, Duo Low Blow,...) kann ich mit dem WP richtig fette bass lines spielen.
4. Ich spiele oft mit Clip- Mic. Da sind Dämpferwechsel immer sehr heikel. Dieses Problem fällt beim WP komplett weg.
Auf meinen nächsten Produktionen wird der WP auf jeden Fall zu hören sein!

Dank dem Whisper-Penny dürfte es nun endlich JEDEM Trompeter möglich sein, mit einer sensiblen Ballade die Mädchenherzen zu erobern und desgleichen jeder Trompeterin die Herzen der Jungs.
So müssen wir uns im jungen Jahrtausend keine Sorgen mehr machen: Der Nachschub an neuen Talenten ist garantiert.
Ich persönlich denke, dass der Whisper-Penny auch in Big Bands bald zum Standarddämpfer wird und ich freue mich aufs erste Whisper-Tutti.
